Your stories are stored securely using industry-standard cloud infrastructure with industry-standard encryption. All data is encrypted both in transit and at rest. We use multiple data centers with automatic backups to reduce the risk of data loss — and because no system can guarantee perfection, you can also download a full backup of your stories from Settings at any time.

By default, only YOU have access to your stories. No one else can see them unless you explicitly create a sharing link. When you share, each person gets a unique, secure access code that you control. You can revoke access at any time.

Never. We don't sell your data to anyone, and we don't show ads. Everstory is funded entirely by subscriptions from users who value preserving their family memories. Your privacy is our priority.

If you delete your account, all your data is permanently removed from our servers within 30 days. Before deletion, you'll have the opportunity to download a complete backup of your stories. Once deleted, this data cannot be recovered.

Yes! You can download your complete story collection at any time from your Settings page. This includes all your story text, photos, videos, and audio. You can export as a professional editable document or as raw data files. Your memories belong to you.

Everstory guides you through your memories one question at a time. Instead of staring at a blank page, you're gently prompted — 'What is your earliest childhood memory?' or 'Describe the home you grew up in.' You answer in your own words, your own voice, at your own pace. Each response becomes a beautifully preserved story, organised automatically by theme. You can type, speak aloud, or upload a photo to bring a memory to life.

A journal starts with a blank page and no direction. Everstory starts with the right question. Our guided prompts surface stories you didn't know you wanted to tell, organised automatically by theme and enriched with photos and voice. A journal sits in a drawer. Everstory lives on — built to be shared privately with the people who matter most.

No. Each Everstory account belongs to one person and is private to them. There is no shared family workspace where multiple people write into the same account. If a partner, parent, or sibling wants to capture their own memories, they create their own separate Everstory account — their stories are theirs, and yours are yours.

The Family Hub inside your account is for you to write stories about your children — their milestones, early years, and memories you want to preserve on their behalf. You can create a profile for each child, organise their stories into chapters, and keep them separate from your own. It's your memories of them, in your words.

Today, family members each keep their own private account and share their storybook with each other through private links. A single shared collection where several accounts write into one book together is on our roadmap — you can vote for it on our home page. It is not available yet.

When you're ready, you create a private Share Link for the person you want to share with. Each link carries its own unique access code, so only the person you give it to can open it — no app download and no Everstory account needed on their end. They simply click and read. You can create a different link for each person and revoke any link at any time.

Recipients can browse and read the stories you've chosen to share, and use filters to explore by category or year. They cannot edit, add, or delete any of your stories, and they only ever see what you've included in that particular link. Your stories stay private by default — nothing is ever public, and there are no public profiles, social feeds, or algorithms.

The Guardian feature is for anyone who wants peace of mind that a trusted person can reach their stories if they're no longer able to. You nominate a spouse, adult child, or close friend who can access your complete story collection if something ever happens to you.

Your nominated Story Guardian receives a secure, private link to your full collection. Your stories reach the people who love you most — exactly as you intended. It's the digital equivalent of leaving a letter that always finds its way home.

You can upload photos (JPG, PNG up to 5MB), videos (MP4, MOV up to 50MB), and audio recordings (MP3, WAV up to 10MB). All media is automatically optimised for secure storage and fast sharing.

Every piece of media in your gallery can be attached directly to a story, so your words and visuals live together. A photo beside the story it belongs to. A voice recording preserved in your own voice. Media doesn't just illustrate your stories — it becomes part of them.

Desktop users can use voice dictation free and unlimited. Mobile users get voice transcription as part of their subscription, with monthly minute allowances based on their plan. Our cloud-based speech recognition converts your voice to text with high accuracy.

Yes — you retain full ownership of your original stories and all AI-generated content derived from them. It's provided for personal, non-commercial use and you can download, print, and share it freely with family.

Yes, you can cancel anytime from your Settings page. If you cancel, you'll retain access until the end of your billing period. Your stories remain accessible, but you won't be able to add new ones after your plan expires.

When you upgrade, you're charged the full price of the new tier immediately and receive a prorated credit for the unused portion of your current subscription. This gives you immediate access to all premium features while only paying for what you use.
